- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tsp dried herbs (optional, such as oregano or thyme)

Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    - In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Prepare the Dough:
    - In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
    - Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Add Cheese:
    - Flatten the dough and sprinkle the shredded cheese, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, and dried herbs evenly over it. Fold the dough over the cheese and knead gently to incorporate.
  4. First Rise:
    - Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Shape the Dough:
    - Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Second Rise:
    - Cover the loaf and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
  7. Bake:
    - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. Cool and Serve:
